Courtney Straub
Haddonfield
Playing Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz is a dream for most aspiring performers, but for Paul VI High School’s Straub (pictured) it was also an award-winning reality. The 16-year-old was awarded the Perry Award by the New Jersey Association of Community Theaters for Outstanding Youth Actress in a Musical while playing Dorothy. Straub was the youngest performer to be nominated for the award.

Judy Adams
Medford
Longtime volunteer librarian Adams was honored for her service with the Pinelands Branch of the Burlington County Library System. Adams is a lifelong Medford resident whose father helped build the library almost 40 years ago. In lieu of a thank you gift she requested the library install flat-screen TVs in the library for special programs.

Eleanor Stofman
Cherry Hill
As president of the Cherry Hill Education Foundation (CHEF), Stofman is always trying to find new and innovative ways to raise funds for local schools, but her newest program is also fun for the whole town. Stofman created Cherry Hill Opoly, an edited version of the classic Monopoly board game featuring businesses from Cherry Hill. Strofman will sell the board to raise money for CHEF and also raised funds from businesses who participated in the game.

Judith Charny
Mount Laurel
Charny, an attorney with the Mount Laurel firm Charny, Charny & Karpousis, was named a municipal judge for Cherry Hill. Charny is the first woman to ever serve as a municipal judge for the township, and was appointed alongside two other judges to serve.

Giuliana Bruzzese
Voorhees
Young performer Bruzzese was selected to perform in the upcoming production of Mary Poppins at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia. Bruzzese has been a member of the production’s children’s ensemble and will join a cast in what is a stop on the show’s national tour, from November to January.

Chaz Briggs & Tyler Woyshner
Moorestown
Moorestown’s Briggs and Woyshner raised $2,600 through their Shore for a Cure initiative. The 22-year-olds decided to rollerblade 53 miles to Long Beach Island for a cause. The money went to Livestrong, a national foundation that benefits cancer research and Camp No Worries, a week-long camp for children with pediatric cancer in Burlington and Camden counties.
