Marietta Hannigan, Haddonfield
Haddonfield Friends fourth-grade teacher Marietta Hannigan and her 17 students are raising a puppy to be an assistance dog for a person with disabilities, through the organization Canine Companions for Independence.

Kwame Morton, Cherry Hill
Joyce Kilmer Elementary School Principal Kwame Morton created and implemented the “English is Easy” after-school program in his school. Once a week, non-English-speaking students and their parents meet with ESL teachers to break down the barriers between school and home. Parents learn how to access school services and how to communicate with teachers.

Maureen O’Callaghan, Mount Laurel
Maureen O’Callaghan, a special education teacher at Lenape High School, has been named the school’s February Employee of the Month. O’Callaghan has unselfishly donated clothing, shoes and even space in her home to students in need.

Steve Ciancitto, Marlton
Cherokee High School North social studies teacher Steve Ciancitto has been named the North teacher of the year for his introduction of Global Nomads Group video conferencing, connecting students from around the world to address global issues, and for his dedication to the construction of the North Building school store annex.

Kelly Adams, Medford
Haines Sixth Grade Center special education math and science teacher Kelly Adams founded the Kaleidoscope Therapeutic Riding Program, a nonprofit horseback riding program for children with special needs. Students receive physical therapy, occupational therapy and character development while riding horses.

Christina Hoffmann, Voorhees
Christina Hoffmann, first-grade teacher at E.T. Hamilton School led her students to help 300 guests at the Cathedral Kitchen in Camden enjoy a Valentine’s Day meal. Hoffmann and her students created festive decorations for the meal: table centerpieces, place mats and utensil bags.

Daniel Jedwabny, Washington Township
Orchard Valley Middle School art teacher Daniel Jedwabny has been named a Washington Township teacher of the year. Jedwabny will be honored in April as one of the finest educators in the district for his dedication to his students and the community.

Julie Catrambone, Moorestown
Mary Roberts Elementary School health and physical education teacher Julie Catrambone helps run and implement awareness of healthy eating habits and exercise by leading the school’s participation in the American Heart Association’s annual Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart campaigns. Last year, the school was third in the state, raising more than $9,000 for the American Heart Association.
