Eastern High School’s theater team recently celebrated several first-place wins at the New Jersey Drama and Forensics League Championships. Competitors earned top spots in categories such as comedy pairs and reader’s theater.

Cherokee Boys’ Track
Marlton
A relay group from the Cherokee Boys’ track team, consisting of Colin Merrigan, Drew Viscidy, Ross Staudt and Shawn Wilson, broke the school’s 4x800 record on Feb. 28. They also ran the third fastest time in the country, with a time of 7:46.84.

Cherokee Math Team
Marlton
The school’s math team won the Burlington County Math League competition, made up of 12 teams and five meets held during the school year. Two individual team members had the second and third highest individual scores overall.

MATHCOUNTS
Moorestown
Moorestown Friends’ Middle School’s MATHCOUNTS team placed first among 10 other competitors at the Ocean chapter competition on Feb. 4. Teammate Joshua Murdy of Hainesport placed second in the overall competition.

Lenape High School Debate team
Medford
Lenape High School’s debate team outwitted competitors Eastern and Shawnee during the Feb. 13 South Jersey Debate League championships. They held the best season record in the league, 14-2.

Haddonfield High School Boys’ Track
Haddonfield
The boys’ relay team, consisting of Will Manion, Ryan Richards, Quinn Laidig and Sean Stevens, broke Haddonfield’s record on March 4 at the New Jersey State Swim Championships. With a time of 3:13.82, the team placed second and beat the previous record time of 3:15.86.

ARI and Team Holman
Mount Laurel
On Feb. 3, the Greater Delware Valley chapter of Autism Speaks named Team Holman as the “Top Southern New Jersey Walk Now for Autism Speaks” fundraising team of 2011, their third year as the top earner. The team raised $30,000 in 2011.

Medford Memorial Middle School Boys’ Basketball
Medford
The boys’ basketball team won the Camden County Elementary League Olympic Conference Championship. The girls’ team also placed second in their ELOC championship.

Minutemaids Basketball
Washington Township
The Washington Township High School girls' basketball team won its second consecutive championship title after defeating Toms River East High School in the NJSIAA South Jersey Group IV girls' basketball sectional championship on March 5.

Seneca Girls’ Basketball
Tabernacle
The girls’ basketball team won the school’s first-ever basketball title, the South Jersey Group III Championship, on March 6. They are 25-4 overall this season.

Stockton Elementary Crescendo Choir
Cherry Hill
Stockton Elementary School’s Crescendo Choir hosted a fundraising song night on March 8, where the competitive select elementary choir performed Broadway hits with professional adult singers. The group raised funds to compete in the Festivals of Music Competition in June, where they earned first-place treble choir last season.

Beck Middle School Beck Robotics Team
Cherry Hill
Beck Middle School’s Beck Robotics Team recently won the Lego League Championship. The competition put 10 regional schools against each other in a building skills test, with emphasis on teamwork and professionalism.
