Cherry Hill White Sox Baseball

The White Sox 9- to 11-year-old team in the Cherry Hill Youth Athletic Association (pictured) took home the Major 60s Division championship with a 9-3 victory over the Angels. The win capped a sensational 18-2-1 season for the White Sox.

Washington Township U15 A Lacrosse
Washington Township
The Washington Township U15 A team claimed the South Jersey Youth Lacrosse title as it edged Marlton, 5-4, in a hard-fought championship game. The boys, coached by Mike Motto, Walt Dzierzgowski, Christian Holmes and Glen Grosmick, had a 15-4 record in the spring.

Moorestown Comets Girls Soccer
Moorestown
The U11 girls followed up their division championship last fall with another title this spring, as they moved up to the South Jersey Girls Soccer League American Division and had an outstanding season. The Comets went 8-0-2 on their way to the championship and were led by their defense, as they allowed just three goals all season.

Cherry Hill U7 Youth Baseball
Cherry Hill
The Cherry Hill Youth Athletic Association U7 team was crowned champion at the Burlington Township Falcon Frenzy after going undefeated in the tournament. The boys won all five of their games, four of them by shutout, and scored 47 total runs while allowing just four.

Marlton Thunder U8 Softball
Marlton
The Thunder, a U8 team, showed their resilience by winning the Edgewater Park Tournament. After losing their first two games at the tourney, the girls stormed back to win five straight and claim the championship.

Mount Laurel Lady Indians Girls Lacrosse
Mount Laurel
The Lady Indians, a team of seventh- and eighth-graders, captured the South Jersey Youth Lacrosse League championship in thrilling fashion. They avenged two regular-season losses on their way to the title, including a 12-4 defeat to Marlton. The Lady Indians took the rematch in the championship game, edging Marlton, 15-11.

Voorhees Force Boys Soccer
Voorhees
The Force, a U16 boys soccer team made up mostly of Eastern High School students, went undefeated during the spring season. The boys posted an 8-0-2 record and won the South Jersey Soccer League Flight 1 regular season championship. The Force also took first place in their division at the Voorhees Memorial Day Classic, going 5-0 in the tournament and defeating Burlington Township in the final, 2-1.

Medford Hurricanes Girls Soccer
Medford
The Hurricanes, a U11 squad from the Medford Soccer Club, enjoyed a terrific spring season. The girls won the South Jersey Girls Soccer League Premier Flight before moving on to the U.S. Club Soccer New Jersey State Cup. The Hurricanes took first in the State Cup Premier Flight by winning five straight games, allowing just three total goals for the tournament.

Mount Laurel
The U14 Flash, comprised of girls throughout South Jersey, repeated as champions at the U.S. Club Soccer Northeast Regional Championships in LaGrangeville, N.Y. The squad competed in the Premier Flight and earned a berth in the U.S. Club Soccer National Cup in Colorado. In the last two years at regionals, the Flash has an 8-0 record.

Cherokee Golf
Marlton
The Cherokee High School golf team earned its first-ever team title at the NJSIAA South/Central Group IV Championships in the spring. The Chiefs recorded a team score of 313 at Linwood Country Club, beating second-place finisher Washington Township by an impressive 16 strokes. Cherokee went on to place 12th overall and third among Group IV schools at the Tournament of Champions.

Haddonfield Little League Baseball
Haddonfield
The Haddonfield 12-year-old squad won the District 13 title for the second year in a row, as it defeated Haddon Township in two straight games for the crown. A 19-13 victory in the district final sent Haddonfield on to the Section 4 Tournament, where it finished in second place.

Sunnybrook Mako Sharks
Moorestown
With nine first-place finishes and record-setting performances by several swimmers, the Sunnybrook Mako Sharks had a terrific showing at the Burlington County Swimming Championships. Sunnybrook saw 51 of its swimmers qualify for the Tri-County Swimming Championships, which was held in early August.
